Who we are
Shropshire Quotes is a trading name of William Charlesworth-Jones, who is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about your information at hello@shropshire-quotes.com.
What we collect
- Your name, phone number, email address and the postcode of the property.
- Your answers about the job, any description you write, and your preferred time to be called.
- Whether you asked to receive tips and offers from us.
- Technical details sent with the form: the page you used, any advert you clicked to reach us, and your IP address.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Pass your enquiry to one checked local installer who covers your area, so they can contact you about a quote, and tell you who they are. | Taking steps at your request, and our legitimate interest in providing the service you asked for. |
| Contact you about your enquiry by phone, email or text, for example to check the details. | Taking steps at your request. |
| Send you occasional tips and offers from Shropshire Quotes, only if you ticked the box. | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. |
| Keep a record of your enquiry and what you agreed to, deal with complaints, and prevent spam and fraud. | Our legitimate interests, and our legal obligations. |
We pass each enquiry to one installer. We do not sell your details to lists of firms or to marketing companies.
Who we share it with
- The installer we match you with. They become responsible for your details as their own customer enquiry, under their own privacy policy.
- Service providers who run the website and store enquiries for us, under contract: Cloudflare (hosting), Airtable (enquiry records) and Google (email).
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers store data in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the UK's data bridge with the United States or by contractual safeguards approved for UK data transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for up to two years from the date of your enquiry, so we can deal with follow-up questions or complaints, and then delete them. If you opt in to tips and offers, we keep your email for that purpose until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will ask for your permission first and update this policy.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent, by emailing hello@shropshire-quotes.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
We will update this policy when how we use your information changes, and change the date at the top.
