How it works

Three steps from enquiry to quote

  1. 1

    Tell us about the job

Pick the trade, add your postcode and answer a few short questions. It takes about two minutes.

  2. 2

We match you with a local installer

We pass your enquiry to one checked installer who covers your area. You see who it is before you send anything.

  3. 3

    They survey and quote

The installer contacts you to arrange a survey and a written quote. There is no cost to you and no obligation to go ahead.

Why Shropshire Quotes

Built to be the opposite of a call centre

Your details go to one installer

Not sold to a list of firms, not passed to a call centre. The installer is named on the form before you submit it.

Installers we have checked

We confirm each installer's trading history and insurance, and the right accreditation for the work: MCS for heat pumps and solar, FENSA or CERTASS for windows.

Shropshire only

We cover Shropshire and the Welsh border and nowhere else, so the installers we work with are genuinely local to you.

Funding

Help with the cost of green home improvements

Two national schemes can lower the price of a heat pump or solar installation. Both end or change on 31 March 2027.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

£7,500 off an air source or ground source heat pump, or £9,000 if you are replacing oil or LPG heating, until 31 March 2027. For homes in England and Wales. Eligibility criteria apply and the installer must be MCS certified. The installer claims it and takes it off your price.

0% VAT on energy saving installs

Solar panels, batteries and heat pumps supplied and installed in your home carry 0% VAT until 31 March 2027. From 1 April 2027 the rate goes back to 5%.

FAQ

Common questions

Does it cost anything?

No. Using Shropshire Quotes is free for homeowners. Installers pay us for introductions, which is how we are funded.

Is this a government service?

No. Shropshire Quotes is an independent business. We do not award grants. Where a scheme such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme applies, the installer applies for it on your behalf.

Who will contact me?

Only the installer named on the form when you send your enquiry. We do not pass your details to anyone else.

Am I eligible for the heat pump grant?

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 off an air source or ground source heat pump in England and Wales, or £9,000 if you are replacing oil or LPG heating, until 31 March 2027. Eligibility criteria apply and the installer must be MCS certified. Your installer will confirm whether your home qualifies.
